Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man is facing multiple charges after a series of incidents that disrupted downtown businesses and damaged property.

According to court documents, the events unfolded on the morning of August 5th when officers were dispatched to the Downtown Engagement Center for a disturbance.

Staff told police that 35-year-old Tyrell Ray Motacek caused a disruption inside the building before walking out. He allegedly knocked over trash cans, pulled pictures off the walls, threatened to kill everyone inside, and then pulled the fire alarm before leaving.

Officers located Motacek in the 300 block of Broadway and saw him enter Sandy’s Donuts. Moments later, the store manager told police that Motacek had dumped water inside the business.

When an officer told him he was not free to leave, Motacek allegedly jumped onto the hood of a parked car, causing two noticeable dents.

Police placed Motacek under arrest. He is now charged with felony criminal mischief for the car damage, along with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and tampering with or falsely sounding a fire alarm.

Felony criminal mischief in North Dakota can carry a prison sentence of up to five years and significant fines. Misdemeanor charges can add additional jail time and penalties.

Authorities say no one was injured during the incident, but the property damage and threats are being taken seriously.

Court dates have been scheduled as the case moves forward.
