Fargo, Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – Joseph Manitowabi, 37, is facing six new charges after a violent clash with Fargo Police went viral on social media.
On June 7, officers responding to a narcotics call at Roberts Commons parking ramp spotted two men smoking meth. One, Jesse Galusha, had an active warrant and was arrested. The other, Manitowabi, fled, and when officers tried to detain him, he punched all three officers and ran, according to court documents.
He was eventually stopped after an officer pulled a taser. A search revealed suspected meth, paraphernalia, and a necklace with burnt residue. Meth was also found in his wallet at the jail.
The officers sustained minor injuries. Manitowabi now faces charges of assaulting peace officers, drug possession, resisting arrest, and refusal to halt.
This isn’t his first violent run-in. In 2023, he beat a man unconscious, stole his phone, and allegedly cut him with a machete, earning a 2-year prison sentence. He is scheduled for arraignment on June 11 at 1:30 PM.
