Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man is facing multiple felony charges after police recovered stolen power tools in a West Acres Mall parking lot sting.

Court documents show that 42-year-old Daniel Joseph Dronen has been charged with felony theft of property, possession of fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The case began on August 6th when a victim reported to police that power tools had been stolen from his vehicle. The victim told officers he saw the stolen items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Police and the victim arranged a meeting with the seller in the parking lot of West Acres Mall. Officers were on scene when the suspect’s vehicle arrived. Authorities say Dronen was already outside the vehicle when they moved in and arrested him.

Two other individuals inside the vehicle fled the scene on foot. Police say the pair discarded stolen power tools as they ran. Those suspects have not yet been located.

Officers recovered the stolen items and evidence related to the theft. They also reported finding fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in Dronen’s possession.

If convicted on all charges, Dronen could face significant prison time, fines, and mandatory drug treatment.

The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information on the two unidentified suspects to contact Fargo Police.

Stolen property crimes and drug-related offenses remain a growing concern in Cass County. Law enforcement continues to encourage residents to report suspicious activity and secure their property.
