CASS COUNTY MAN ACCUSED OF USING STOLEN CREDIT CARD FROM CASINO THEFT | trfnews.i234.me

Cass County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Cass Lake man is facing criminal charges after allegedly using a stolen financial transaction card from a wallet lost at Cedar Lakes Casino.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Cass County District Court, 46-year-old Harold Carl Fairbanks is charged with financial transaction card fraud – use without consent, a gross misdemeanor.

A man reported he had lost his wallet earlier that day and believed Fairbanks had picked it up. The victim later received a notification from Cash App that $8 had been taken using a card under the name “HAROLD FAI.”

Later that day, Fairbanks allegedly attempted to make a purchase at Leech Lake Market using the victim’s debit card. Store surveillance confirmed his identity, and the transaction details matched the victim’s report. The suspect paid with a different method after the card was declined.

If convicted, Fairbanks faces up to 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
