Cass County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Pillager man is facing felony charges after allegedly stealing over $63,000 worth of equipment from his former employer, Madden’s Resort, in a calculated overnight theft.
According to a criminal complaint, on June 6, 2025, deputies responded to Madden’s for the reported theft of a Chevy 2500 truck, tandem trailer, John Deere skid steer, and stump grinder—all stolen from the resort’s maintenance area.
Security footage showed the stolen truck leaving the scene at 1:20 a.m. The stolen property was recovered a day later at a rural property near Alexandria. Witnesses identified the suspect as Blaze Jeffrey Thorson-Lane, a former Madden’s employee fired earlier this year. Deputies later discovered a missing key to the truck—last seen a year ago—was found in the ignition.
Thorson-Lane, who’s currently on probation, is now charged with two felony counts of theft, including taking a motor vehicle without consent and depriving the owner of high-value property.
