CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man is facing several felony charges following a stolen motorcycle case that led to a police chase through the city earlier this month.
According to court documents, officers responded to a Fargo residence on October 3 at approximately 8:40 a.m. after a motorcycle owner reported his bike stolen. The victim told police that the motorcycle was equipped with a tracking device, which allowed him to locate it at a nearby garage.
As the owner approached, the suspect—later identified as Timothy J. Mock of Fargo—reportedly drove the motorcycle out of the garage at high speed, forcing the owner to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. Police were soon alerted and began pursuit.
Officers say Mock led them on a chase before abandoning the motorcycle and attempting to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended a short distance away.
Mock is now charged with three felony counts, including theft of property and two counts of fleeing an officer—one for the motorcycle pursuit and another for fleeing on foot.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Police have since recovered the stolen motorcycle and returned it to its owner.
The case remains under review by the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office. For more information on North Dakota criminal statutes and penalties, visit the North Dakota Century Code.
