Cass County: Fargo Man Caught After Apple ID Tracks Stolen Car

CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fargo man is facing felony charges after police say stolen computer equipment with Apple ID tracking led them directly to him.

According to court documents, the incident began on October 3 when a victim reported that his vehicle and about $3,200 worth of computer equipment, including an iPad, had been stolen. The victim immediately activated the iPad’s Apple ID tracking feature, which pinpointed its location for officers.

Police followed the tracking signal to an address at 2621 14th Street South in Fargo. When they arrived, they found 31-year-old Jordan C. Miner sitting inside the stolen vehicle. Officers also recovered the stolen computer equipment inside the car.

Miner was arrested and is now facing felony charges of unlawful entry into a vehicle and theft of property. Investigators say the stolen items, combined with the Apple tracking feature, made it possible to locate both the suspect and the vehicle within hours.

The Fargo Police Department handled the investigation, and the case has been forwarded to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Officials remind residents to keep vehicles locked, remove valuables, and enable tracking features on their electronic devices to help recover stolen items quickly.
