Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) — A Fargo man is facing multiple charges after police say he made threats against residents, including children, and broke into a home through a back window.
According to court documents, a woman told police that Tyler Cote had previously stayed at her home but was asked to leave due to his behavior. On the day of the incident, she drove Cote to Essentia Hospital after he said he had missed a methadone dose and was experiencing hallucinations.
When she returned, Cote was in her front yard trying to get inside to retrieve his phone. She refused entry, and he allegedly threatened to return with a weapon to kill the people inside. Two young children were in the home at the time.
As officers spoke with the woman at the front door, they heard yelling inside. Police say Cote had gone to the backyard, pushed an AC unit out of a window, and climbed inside. One of the children told officers they saw Cote enter through the window.
Cote was arrested for terrorizing and criminal trespass. Police say he began hallucinating again, talking about people who weren’t present and claiming imaginary individuals were laughing at him. During transport to jail, he reportedly yelled about someone in the back seat and acted as if someone outside was shooting at the vehicle.
Cote is charged with two counts of terrorizing and one count of criminal trespass.
