CASS COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Firefighters in Fargo responded to an apartment fire Friday evening and quickly brought the situation under control.

According to the Fargo Fire Department, the call came in for a report of a balcony fire at an apartment building located at 3524 28th Avenue South in south Fargo.

Crews arrived to find flames on a third-floor balcony. Firefighters were able to rapidly extinguish the blaze before it spread to the building’s interior. The fire caused minor damage to deck boards, with some charred debris dropping onto a second-floor balcony below.

No one was injured, and residents were able to remain in their apartments. Officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but early reports indicate only minimal property damage.

Fargo Fire credited the quick response and coordination of firefighters for preventing what could have been a much larger fire in the multi-unit apartment building.

The Fargo Fire Department reminds residents to use caution with grills, smoking materials, and other ignition sources when on apartment decks or balconies, especially during dry or windy conditions.

More information will be released once investigators determine the cause of the fire.
