Cass County ( trfnews.i234.me ) — Newly obtained court documents are shedding light on a July 22 drive-by shooting now linked to a suspect in a fatal Fargo shooting earlier this month.
Police say they were called just before midnight to 2701 32nd Avenue South for reports of gunfire. A witness reported seeing a car drive past a group of men in the parking lot, with a man leaning out of the rear driver’s side window, firing shots. One bullet allegedly passed through multiple walls of her third-floor apartment.
Shortly after, a man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. He told officers he had been walking across the street after parking his car when he was struck.
Investigators recovered 13 spent 10mm cartridge casings from the street, which they say were consistent with shots fired from a moving vehicle. Eight bullet impact marks were found on the apartment building.
Surveillance video from multiple sources led police to the vehicle’s driver and several passengers, including two juveniles. Security footage analysis identified the suspected shooter as C’Aundre Douglas.
A temporary felony warrant for Douglas was issued on July 29. Police say he is also connected to the August 3 fatal shooting of Elijah Hughes in South Fargo. He was arrested in Jamestown on August 5 and appeared in court on August 6, facing two counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault in the July incident. Additional charges are expected in the August 3 case.
