Cass Lake (trfnews.i234.me) — A Cass County theft investigation has ended in felony charges for Joseph A. Kangas of Cass Lake, Minnesota.
On April 1st, a Polaris Ranger and trailer were reported stolen from Stony Point Campground near Cass Lake. Authorities reviewed surveillance footage and gathered evidence, which eventually led them to a public bathroom south of Cass Lake.
There, on April 4th, Kangas was found hiding, and under questioning, he admitted to the theft, according to court documents. He is now facing felony theft charges in connection to the stolen property.
The case highlights how technology and persistence helped authorities bring resolution to this campground crime.
