Fargo, North Dakota ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Fargo man is facing serious charges following an early morning altercation that police say was captured on surveillance video.

According to court records, Timmy Lindermann has been charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault. The charges are tied to a September 13th incident around 6:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue North in Fargo.

Authorities say Lindermann punched another man multiple times in the head and strangled him during the assault. Responding Fargo police officers reported that the victim sustained visible injuries.

Lindermann denied involvement in the altercation, but investigators say surveillance footage from the area clearly shows him striking the victim. This evidence was cited in the probable cause documents supporting the charges.

If convicted, the felony aggravated assault charge could result in significant prison time under North Dakota law. The misdemeanor simple assault charge carries additional potential penalties.

Officials continue to stress the dangers of strangulation in assault cases, which can lead to serious injury or even death. More information on the risks associated with strangulation in domestic and criminal assaults can be found through the Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention.

The case will proceed through Cass County District Court, where Lindermann is expected to make an initial appearance. Further details may be released as the legal process moves forward.
