Carol J. Veum, age 84 of Park River, ND and formerly Adams, ND passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Carol J. Johnson was born on August 8, 1940 in Park River, ND to the late Arthur J. and Sophie (Dahl) Johnson. Carol was raised and attended school in Park River. Carol married Raymond Veum on April 21, 1957 in East Grand Forks, MN. They settled in Edinburg, ND, before purchasing the family farm in 1971 and relocating to Adams, ND. Carol and Raymond farmed and in 1987 she began working for the Good Samaritan Center of Park River as a CNA. She loved her job, the residents, and their families. Carol worked for the Good Samaritan Center for more then 20 years. After retirement, she and Raymond loved to travel, making several trips to Texas. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, visiting and reminiscing.
Carol is survived by her children: Doug (Cindy) Veum, West Fargo, ND; Lorrie (Dean) Bergman, Alvarado, MN; Mike Veum, Park River, ND; and Dan Veum, Park River, ND; her grandchildren: Kyra (Tim) Sandstrom, Kyle (Kim) Veum, Chelsey Bergman (Rachel Roe), Emily Bergman, Adam (Shauna) Bergman, and Anderson Veum; great grandchildren: Jordan, Tyler, Gavin, Gavin, Aubrey, Murphy, McCreedy, and Maebry; her siblings: Evelyn (Wally) Moen, Rapid City, SD, Lorraine Thompson, Park River, ND, Richard (Eileen) Johnson, Park River, ND, and Gary (Karen) Johnson, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Donald Johnson.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River.
