Todd County (trfnews.i234.me) was the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon when a car veered off Highway 71 and struck a tree.
The crash occurred at Milepost 187 in Long Prairie Township at 2:32 PM on March 5, 2025.
Crash Details & Emergency Response
Authorities reported that a 2005 Toyota Avalon was traveling southbound on Highway 71 when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Emergency responders, including the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Long Prairie Police, Fire, and Ambulance, arrived quickly to assist.
Driver Injured & Transported to Hospital
The driver, 40-year-old Fanchion Marie Guderian of Browerville, MN, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CentraCare Long Prairie for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that: The driver was wearing a seatbelt
Airbags deployed
Alcohol was NOT involved
What Caused the Crash?
With dry road conditions reported at the time of the crash, investigators are still working to determine what led the driver to leave the roadway. Driver fatigue, distractions, or mechanical failure could all be potential factors.
