Campbell, Wilkin County (trfnews.i234.me) — A man is recovering after surviving a grain bin accident near Campbell, Minnesota, according to the Wilkin County Sheriff’s Department.

At 12:13 p.m. Monday, dispatchers received a call reporting a man trapped inside a grain bin. The individual had been stuck for approximately 30 minutes before calling for help and was found submerged in corn up to his waist, complaining of leg pain.

Emergency crews from the Campbell and Tintah fire departments responded with specialized grain bin rescue equipment. They were assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, St. Francis Ambulance, Breckenridge Fire, and Alexandria Air Care.

When deputies arrived, the man was located in the center of the grain bin, alert and conscious. By 1:26 p.m., rescuers successfully freed him, and he was transported by St. Francis Ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota, for further medical evaluation.

According to initial reports, the man had entered the grain bin to dislodge stuck corn when the grain suddenly shifted, trapping him. His son, who was present at the time, worked to shovel corn away until emergency responders arrived.

This incident marks the third reported grain bin accident in Minnesota this summer.
