BECKER COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — Terese Renae Madigan, 38, of Callaway, has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and gross misdemeanor DWI. The charges stem from an incident on February 16, when a Becker County deputy responded to a 911 hang-up call near Highway 59 and 270th Street, north of Detroit Lakes.
Upon arrival, the deputy observed a pickup truck associated with Madigan traveling south on Highway 59. When the deputy activated his emergency lights, the vehicle continued without stopping, eventually turning onto County Road 106 and coming to a stop west of the railroad tracks. As the deputy approached, the driver reversed the vehicle, maneuvered around the squad car, and then came to a stop.
Madigan was identified as the driver. The deputy noted signs of impairment, including a strong odor of alcohol, bloodshot and watery eyes, and slurred speech. A preliminary breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.189. Madigan was arrested and transported to the Becker County Jail. She posted $300 cash bail on February 19 and was released under standard conditions.
