BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team built a 15-point lead in the second half, but Cal State Bakersfield stormed back to pull out an 86-81 victory on Monday night at the Icardo Center.
Bison senior Jacari White scored 22 points to lead NDSU, and sophomore Noah Feddersen added 16 points and six rebounds. Tajavis Miller chipped in 14 points for the Bison.
NDSU led 59-44 with 15 minutes left in the second half. The Bison were up 69-56 with 9:45 remaining before the Roadrunners went on a 12-0 run. With the game tied at 77-77, Marvin McGhee IV hit a three-pointer to give Bakersfield the lead for good with 1:49 on the clock.
Jemel Jones scored 25 points for Bakersfield.
The Roadrunners shot 58 percent for the game, while the Bison shot 52 percent. NDSU made 9-of-26 (35 percent) from beyond the arc.
NDSU will play at Santa Clara on Wednesday at 9 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. PT.
