WEST FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Minnesota woman is facing multiple felony charges in West Fargo after a case of burned bacon led to a major drug seizure.
According to Cass County Court documents, Kierra Jo Fogarty of Zumbro Falls, Minnesota, has been charged with three felonies: possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and possession of a stolen firearm. She also faces an enhancement for trafficking drugs while armed.
Authorities say that on November 7th, police and fire crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a fourth-floor room at a hotel in the 800 block of Beaton Drive. Inside, they found Fogarty, who had an outstanding warrant. Burned bacon was found on the stove, prompting further investigation.
During a subsequent search, officers discovered quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with a firearm. The weapon was later determined to be stolen.
Fogarty was taken into custody and booked into the Cass County Jail. The case remains under investigation by the West Fargo Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Authorities remind the public that fentanyl continues to pose serious risks, even in small amounts, and encourage anyone with information on drug activity to contact local law enforcement.
