Ward County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 60-year-old Foxholm man died after an off-highway vehicle rollover northwest of Burlington on March 8, authorities said. Public reports reviewed on Tuesday did not list the man’s name.
What Happened
The crash happened in the 7200 block of 87th Street Northwest. The site is northwest of Burlington in Ward County. Authorities said the man was driving a 2001 Polaris Magnum 500 north on the road. The road was gravel and muddy. The weather was clear, and light was fading.
Investigators said the Polaris hit mud and standing water. The driver then lost control. The vehicle left the road on the west side. It entered the ditch and overturned.
Authorities said the exact crash time is still unknown. The incident was reported at about 7:35 p.m. Central Time. First responders took the driver to Trinity Health in Minot. Hospital staff later pronounced him dead.
Response From Agencies
The North Dakota State Patrol said the driver was not wearing a helmet. The patrol is leading the investigation.
Other agencies also responded to the scene. They included the Ward County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, Burlington Fire Department, and Trinity Health First Response Community Ambulance Service.
