Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me) – A man is paralyzed from the waist down after a drive-by shooting in the early morning hours of May 29. Prosecutors have now charged three men in connection with the targeted attack, which a basketball court dispute may have sparked.
Hassan Papee Kamara, 21, and Nicholas Sarkor Harris Jr., 21, face first- and second-degree assault charges as well as drive-by shooting counts. Trokon Kaigboyah, 36, is charged with aiding an offender to avoid arrest.
Police responded to Garwood Road North at 12:30 a.m., where the victim, shot in the back, said he couldn’t feel his legs. He had just parked when two masked men opened fire from a vehicle. Doctors later confirmed multiple spinal fractures and bullet fragments lodged in his spine.
Surveillance and forensic evidence tied Kamara and Harris to a silver sedan used in the shooting. The car was found at an apartment building linked to Kaigboyah, who allegedly helped the suspects hide weapons and change clothes.
Kamara and Harris remain jailed on $150,000 bail. Kaigboyah was released without posting bail.
