Hennepin County (trfnews.i234.me) – A region-wide manhunt is underway for 57-year-old Vance Boelter, the suspect in a politically motivated double homicide that shook the Minneapolis area early Saturday morning.
Boelter is accused of fatally shooting House Democratic Leader Melissa Halter and her husband at their suburban Minneapolis residence. Authorities believe he also shot and wounded another couple — State Senator John Hoffman and his wife — at a second nearby location.
On Sunday, just before noon, law enforcement recovered a vehicle registered to Boelter approximately four miles east of Green Isle, near his listed address. However, Boelter remains at large and may have acquired alternate transportation, significantly widening the potential search area.
Investigators warn that Boelter may be targeting other political figures and facilities, including Planned Parenthood and abortion clinic staff. One such facility — the Red River Women’s Clinic in Moorhead — has not received any direct threats, but Sergeant Brandon of Moorhead Police confirmed to TRF News that no special patrols have been requested yet.
This remains a developing and urgent situation.
