MOORHEAD, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Moorhead Police are investigating a possible homicide after the body of a female was found early Tuesday morning near the Red River.
The discovery was made in the area of 6th Avenue and Elm Street South, close to Woodlawn Park. Officers were initially dispatched around 12:30 a.m. in response to a missing person report.
During their search, they found the deceased woman along the riverbank.
The body will be taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The investigation remains active, with witnesses being interviewed and evidence collected.
No suspects are currently in custody.
Moorhead Police are being assisted by the Moorhead Fire Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Metro Street Crimes Unit.
