  1. Other radio traffic indicated it was an armed vehicle theft from Teal's parking lot with a knife. The chase reached over 100 miles per hour in the stolen Honda Civic. Two males forced the vehicle owner out of the vehicle then left westbound on highway 2. During the chase the lights were turned off and that numerous shots were exchanged between the two. Some radio traffic was indicative that law enforcement vehicles were hit with rounds. It is heard during one of the broadcasts to NOT use spike strips and to disable the vehicle with a shot and/or suspects. The chase sounded like it involved Leech Lake Tribal, Cass County, Beltarmi County, State Patrol, Hubbard was sending reinforcements, and a State Patrol Air would have been 2 hours out. Lake of the Woods county and Koochiching county were also notified of the situation along with multiple State Patrol Districts.

It also sounded like they were setting up a roadblock in Blackduck with possibly a large truck if they were to have made it that far. They were able to disable the vehicle before that, with the vehicle reportedly smoking. Blackduck fire was on standby along with assumingely EMS. It may have sounded like they also placed an order to shoot on sight because they didn't want to chase the subjects in the woods with them being armed and already having engaged law enforcement.
