  1. I love how everyone has an answer and knows everything. Here’s the real thing, it’s not the ice thickness that gets you so people saying wait till it’s thick enough you just sound so uneducated! The ice is a foot thick but since the lake has not froze completely this wind blowing off shore made the ice break and float away it will either freeze back up or blow back in…. Also there was only about 30 people and everyone was off by the time the air boats got there.

  2. How dumb are you people for thinking about putting some sort of restriction or asking for some sort of law prohibiting people that want to venture out of the ice. Your probably the same kind of person that thought the past 3 years was a good thing. Completely stupid, what are you from California? Ice fishing isn't some new thing that just started. These things happen in all sports and recreation. Beach goes are bite by aquatic life and in worse case killed. The weather has a possibility of destroying a town or striking a person down by lightning strike out of pure chance. More people put themselves in harms way ir get themselves killed just commuting annually than any ice fishing experience. No matter the what, Murphys law say you don't get a say. Get off your all high and mighty know it all gas lighting ego trip. STFU, and let people do them. It's not like you have to pay that rescue bill. The report is just a warning. Not an open discussion on how stupid you can sound when ever a mindless thought leaves your brain.

  3. Usually there is 2 feet or more at LOTW by now. The forecast is not promising. I predict that this will be known as the year of bad ice. Does anyone know if the famous Igloo Bar is set out and open in its usual spot near Zippel Bay?

  4. Ill say the same thing here as i did when they were rescuing people on red lake every day. Either stop going out till its safe or they will step in an put restrictions or laws on this

  5. So in Florida, the land of the truly crazy, during the last couple of hurricanes it's been made clear to people that it they don't leave when emergency services tell them it's not safe to stay and you won't be rescued if you choose to risk your life because your too stupid to leave. Minnesota needs to do the same thing with people who aren't bright enough to stay off the water.
