West Fargo, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) — We’ve got breaking news out of West Fargo this Tuesday afternoon, as emergency crews flooded the area near Cheyenne Street and 13th Avenue by the Cheyenne River.
At around 2:30 p.m., video began to emerge showing the West Fargo Fire Department on scene with what appeared to be a boat either launched or ready for launch. At 2:34 p.m., we received an official update from Addie Stewart, West Fargo’s Public Information Officer.
According to the update, West Fargo police and fire responded to reports of an individual going into the Cheyenne River. However, in a surprising turn of events, the individual was located safely a short time later and had not actually gone into the river.
What started as a possible water rescue ended with relief — but serves as a reminder of how quickly first responders mobilize in emergency situations.
