Clearbrook, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — Jamie Nadine Harmon, 39, of Bagley, Minnesota, has been charged with felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor reckless driving after allegedly ramming her SUV into an Amish buggy near Clearbrook in the early hours of May 30th. lptv.org+1redlakenationnews.com+1
According to court documents, law enforcement arrived at the scene to find an overturned Chevy Equinox with its lights still on and an empty Amish buggy in a ditch. Shortly thereafter, the buggy’s driver returned with a friend, stating that Harmon had been driving erratically through ditches, yelling at him, before turning around and intentionally crashing into the buggy’s wheel. lptv.org
The victim, who was accompanied by two passengers, described the driver as a woman in her 40s. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Further investigation led deputies to Harmon’s residence, where family members disclosed that she had been diagnosed with schizophrenia the previous summer but had not been adhering to her medication regimen. They also reported that Harmon had expressed delusional beliefs, including being hunted by shape-shifting eagles and considering herself an apprentice to the devil.
When questioned, Harmon denied involvement in the incident and claimed to have been home all weekend. She was transported to the emergency department in Bagley, where staff determined that a mental health hold was not appropriate at that time.
Harmon now faces serious legal consequences as the community grapples with the unsettling nature of the incident.
