Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 33-year-old Brainerd man, Donavan Trayon Bolden, was arrested over the weekend by the Otter Tail County SWAT Team following a volatile domestic situation near Fergus Falls.
The incident began on Friday evening when Bolden’s girlfriend reported that a dispute erupted after the couple attempted to cash a check at Walmart. After the check was denied, Bolden reportedly told her, “Someone’s going to get shot in the face.”
Later, the victim told deputies that Bolden came home intoxicated and carrying multiple rounds of 9mm ammunition. After an escalating argument, Bolden allegedly threw her onto the couch, smashed items in the home, and made additional threats of violence.
She fled and called 911. When deputies and the SWAT Team arrived, Bolden exited the house without incident. A search warrant revealed multiple hidden firearms, including a 9mm pistol stashed in a crawlspace.
Bolden later admitted he hid the gun after realizing law enforcement had been called, knowing he was not allowed to be around firearms. He has now been charged with Gross Misdemeanor Domestic Assault and Felony Threats of Violence.
