Bradley Duane Betting, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away on February 9, 2026, at the age of 72 in Punta Gorda, FL.
Born on July 13, 1953, in Grand Forks, ND, Brad’s journey through life was one marked by passion, hard work, and a generous spirit. While he initially pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of North Dakota, Brad’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to purchase his first restaurant at the age of 19. From that day forward, he became a proud business owner and lifelong entrepreneur, always committed to his work and his community.
Brad’s true joy, however, came from the relationships he nurtured throughout his life. He shared a loving partnership with his wife, Laurie (Lacrosse) Betting, with whom he built a life full of memories, adventures, and laughter. He was a dedicated father to his four children: Jessica Short, Jonathon (Deanna) Betting, Jacquelyn (Eric) Criswell, and Stacia Garman, and a supportive stepfather to Peter and Tyler Bruggeman. Brad is also survived by his siblings, Robert Betting, Pam Prescott, and Durene (Kent) Onerheim.
Above all, Brad’s greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren: Matea and Nash Betting, Matthew and Olivia Criswell, Katie, Jace, and Ashley Snyder, and Zoe Garman. He loved nothing more than encouraging their passions, celebrating their accomplishments, attending their extracurricular activities, and planning memorable adventures that would stay with them for a lifetime.
Brad’s passions extended beyond his family. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, and was deeply involved in his church. He gave his time and talents to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity Apostle Build and supporting Crossroads Hope Academy, organizations close to his heart. Brad’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and encouragement. Whether through his work or volunteer efforts, he was always ready to lend a helping hand and mentor others, particularly the younger generations.
Brad’s family and friends will remember him as a man with a playful spirit, a warm heart, and a deep desire to make the world a better place. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created with those he loved.
A funeral service to celebrate Brad’s life will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1:00 pm at New Life Church, 507 W Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity and Crossroads Hope Academy, two organizations where Brad volunteered and worked to make a lasting impact in his community.
Brad will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
