Bizarre Shotgun Incident: Grand Rapids Man Faces Assault Charges

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Rapids, Minnesota man is facing criminal charges following a bizarre shotgun threat and reports of shots fired in the town. Allan Kershaw, 55, was arrested and charged with two felonies: assault and reckless discharge of a firearm in a municipality.

According to court documents, on June 20th at 9:04 p.m., a male victim reported that earlier in the evening, Kershaw had given him a ride. Later, Kershaw allegedly pulled out a shotgun at M&H and demanded the victim get back in his vehicle. The victim fled on foot.

Subsequently, police were dispatched to Kershaw’s residence at 803 3rd Avenue Northwest. Kershaw reported that he had shot someone who was attempting to break into his house and claimed to have thrown the body into a pond behind his house. However, police found no evidence of anyone being shot. They did find Kershaw’s shotguns, shell casings, and what appeared to be two blasts of birdshot into the lawn.

Kershaw was arrested and now faces charges for assault and reckless discharge of a firearm in a municipality.
