Bison Women Capture SDSU Classic Title

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The North Dakota State women’s cross country team claimed the SDSU Classic team title on Friday evening, defeating host South Dakota State and several other Summit League schools.

The Bison finished with 41 points to beat the Jackrabbits’ 46.

NDSU senior Reagan Baesler was the top collegiate finisher, taking second place overall in a time of 20:48.4 for the 6k course – only two seconds off the previous course record held by NDSU All-American Erin Teschuk. Fellow Bison senior Grace Link placed sixth in 21:28.1.

Three freshmen filled out the rest of NDSU’s team scoring to secure the win. Jenna DeBates finished 10th in 21:56.5, Mia Hoffmann was 14th in 22:00.2, and Reagan Berg took 17th in 22:11.3.

Baesler’s time was a new career-best for the 6k, and ranks 14th on the NDSU all-time performance list in the event.

NDSU will race next at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill., on Oct. 18, where the Bison women are the defending champions.
