Bison Men’s Track & Field Claims Five CSC Academic All-District Honors

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University men’s track & field team had five student-athletes named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday, June 18.

The Bison men selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team were Cam Landis, Paul Olson, Zach McGlynn, Kaden Pastian, and Cullen Curl.

The Academic All-District team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. In addition to their athletic accomplishments, nominees must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing.

Landis (Madison, Ohio) posted a 4.0 GPA in earning a master’s of business administration degree at NDSU. He was named the Outdoor Championships Field MVP after winning the shot put and discus at the Summit League meet.

Olson (Oxbow, N.D.) captured the Summit League title in the decathlon and qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in the high jump. He has a 4.0 GPA with a major in management information systems.

McGlynn (Stephen, Minn.) owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA with a major in agricultural economics. He was named the Indoor Championships Field MVP as the top scorer in the field events, winning the high jump and taking second in the long jump.

Pastian (Hillsboro, N.D.) was the Summit League indoor champion in both the shot put and weight throw, ranking 83rd nationally in the shot put. He owns a 3.83 GPA as a finance major.

Curl (Bismarck, N.D.) claimed three Summit League titles in 2024, winning the indoor 400m dash and the 4x400m relay both indoor and outdoor. He is a biological sciences major with a 3.93 GPA.
