Bison Men Climb to 10th Place at Roy Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. – The North Dakota State men’s cross country team placed 10th at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning at Les Bolstad Golf Course, improving four places in the team standings from one year ago.
 
Bison senior Hunter Klimek led the Herd with a 12th-place finish overall, clocking 25:22.9 for the eight-kilometer race to earn the highest finish by a Bison runner at the Griak in NDSU’s Division I era.
 
Redshirt freshman Ethan Moe was the No. 2 finisher for NDSU, taking 60th place in 26:10.2.
 
Senior Tyson Mahar placed 73rd in 26:26.8, sophomore Regan Bosch was 79th in 26:30.1, and sophomore Will Gerber completed the NDSU team scoring in 26:30.6 for 80th place.
 
The NDSU men finished 10th with 287 points, moving up four spots in the team race and trimming more than 70 points from last season’s Griak. Wyoming won the men’s team title.
 
NDSU junior Jacob Knodle also posted a top-100 finish on Friday, taking 93rd in 26:40.9.
 
The Bison will race next at the SDSU Classic in Brookings, S.D., on Oct. 4.
