Bison Cross Country Races at NCAA Midwest Regional Friday at Oklahoma State

The North Dakota State women’s and men’s cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Okla., on Friday, Nov. 10.

The women’s six-kilometer race will begin at 10:30 a.m. CT, with the men’s 10k race to follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.

The meet will feature runners from nearly 40 teams spanning nine states (Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota).

The Bison men are ranked an all-time best of 10th in the pre-meet regional rankings from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). NDSU’s highest previous finish in the men’s team race at the NCAA Midwest Regional was 13th place in 2010. The Bison men are coming off their strongest conference meet performance in 41 years, tying South Dakota State for the Summit League title on Oct. 28 before dropping the tiebreaker to claim runner-up honors.

The Bison women will enter Friday ranked 11th in the Midwest Region, looking to challenge their best regional finish of seventh place as a team in 2012.
