BURLEIGH COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bismarck woman is facing felony charges after two people were stabbed near Ministry on the Margins early Wednesday morning.
Bismarck police say the incident happened just after midnight. Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old Bismarck man with a serious but non-life-threatening stab wound to his lower back, and a 22-year-old homeless woman with a superficial facial wound. Both were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
Investigators identified the suspect as 29-year-old Summer Lebeau. She was located nearby and taken into custody without incident. Police say she was first evaluated at a hospital before being booked into the Burleigh-Morton County Detention Center.
A folding knife believed to have been used in the assault was recovered at the scene. Witnesses told officers the victims were standing on the sidewalk when Lebeau approached and attacked them without provocation.
Lebeau is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, a serious felony offense in North Dakota that can carry lengthy prison sentences.
