Bemidji, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly assaulting a flight attendant aboard an Allegiant Air flight from Las Vegas to Grand Forks earlier this year.

According to federal court documents unsealed Wednesday, Jody Sherry-Berg, 64, was arrested in Minnesota on Tuesday, April 8, based on a warrant from North Dakota. She has since been released on a personal recognizance bond and is scheduled for arraignment on April 21 in Grand Forks.

The indictment accuses Sherry-Berg of interfering with the duties of a flight crew member by grabbing the genital area of a crew member identified as “J.M.” during the January 16 flight from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas to Grand Forks International Airport.

Prior to the federal charges, Sherry-Berg had been charged in North Dakota state court with providing false information to police after allegedly giving a false name when officers responded to the in-flight assault report. Those charges were dismissed on April 3 after the federal indictment was issued.

Attempts to reach Sherry-Berg for comment have been unsuccessful.
