Bemidji, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman is facing two gross misdemeanor charges after a reported theft at Walmart led to her arrest and a drug seizure, according to a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota District Court.
Prosecutors charged Chantell Marie Roan Eagle, 34, with fifth-degree drug possession and fourth-degree burglary. The case was filed in Beltrami County District Court. The complaint says the incident happened on March 15, 2026.

What Happened
According to the complaint, Walmart employee Justin White reported that a female suspect left the Bemidji store with a male after a shoplifting incident. The pair were later found near Hannah Avenue Northwest and Highway 197.
Roan Eagle was identified by police at that location. The complaint says she first denied stealing. She was carrying a Walmart bag at the time. She later admitted she had been at the store earlier that day.
Authorities also learned she had an active felony warrant in Beltrami County. After being told about the warrant, the complaint says Roan Eagle admitted taking items from Walmart. She then gave officers several unpaid items, including batteries and makeup.
What Investigators Found
After her arrest, Roan Eagle was taken to the Beltrami County Jail. The complaint says investigators confirmed she had a lifetime trespass order from Walmart. That order was dated August 21, 2025. Court records say she signed that notice on the same day.
A later search of her purse at the jail turned up foil pieces, empty syringes, and a makeup container holding another foil packet, according to the complaint. Investigators reported finding a white crystalline substance inside the packet.
The substance weighed about 0.11 grams. The complaint says it field-tested positive for methamphetamine. The suspected drug evidence was then submitted for processing.
Charges Filed
The drug charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 152.025. The burglary charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 609.582.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both. The charges are allegations. Roan Eagle is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The case remains active in Beltrami County.
