Bemidji, Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman faces new charges after a reported assault involving broken glass.
What police allege
Jessica Lynn McLean, 44, of Bemidji, is charged in Beltrami County court.
The charges include a felony third-degree assault count and a misdemeanor obstruction count.
According to the criminal complaint, officers were sent to a home in the 800 block of America Avenue NW.
The call came in around 9:30 p.m. on January 19, 2026.
Police were told a woman broke a mirror and threatened others with glass pieces.
Officers found a woman with heavy bleeding and swelling near her left eye.
The woman told police she was hit with an object in a dark room.
She could not clearly identify what struck her, the complaint said.

Arrest details
Police located McLean shortly after the report.
The complaint says McLean claimed she acted in self-defense during a dispute.
Officers reported she did not speak in clear, complete sentences.
Police also reported finding a broken mirror near her belongings.
When told she was under arrest, the complaint says she resisted and pulled away.
Officers took her to the ground to apply handcuffs, according to the filing.
Charges and court status
McLean is charged with Third-Degree Assault – Substantial Bodily Harm under Minn. Stat. § 609.223.
She is also charged with Obstruct Legal Process – Interfere with a Peace Officer under Minn. Stat. § 609.50.
The complaint was filed on January 20, 2026, one day after the alleged incident.
The filing says McLean is being held under an order of detention.
The complaint also notes a prior record that includes violence-related convictions.
