Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) A Bemidji woman now faces two charges after a February traffic stop in Beltrami County.
According to a criminal complaint, Kristan Jean Raymond, 46, was charged in Minnesota District Court.
She faces a felony count of fifth-degree drug possession. She also faces a gross misdemeanor count of DWI test refusal.
The case was filed in the Minnesota Judicial Branch. The complaint says the stop happened on February 2, 2026.
What the complaint says
According to the complaint, a Bemidji police officer saw Raymond leave an area tied to drug activity.
The complaint says her vehicle then showed unusual travel patterns. Police then stopped the vehicle for a turn-signal violation.
The stop happened near Roosevelt Road Southeast and Lambert Avenue Southeast in Bemidji.
Investigators said Raymond showed signs of possible impairment during the stop. The complaint points to glassy eyes, constricted pupils, and other signs.
Police said Raymond then completed field sobriety tests. The complaint says the results suggested impairment by a controlled substance.
Search led to drug allegation
Raymond was arrested and taken to the Beltrami County Jail, according to court records.
During a search of the vehicle, police reported finding a loose oxycodone pill.
The complaint also says officers found a backpack with Raymond’s financial card inside.
Inside that backpack, police reported finding about 0.71 grams of suspected fentanyl.
According to the complaint, Raymond denied knowing about the substances.
Refusal charge followed warrant
The complaint says investigators later obtained a warrant for a blood or urine sample.
Police allege Raymond refused both tests several times, even after the warrant was presented.
That alleged refusal led to the DWI test refusal charge.
The suspected drug evidence is expected to be reviewed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Case remains pending
These charges are allegations, not convictions. Raymond is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The complaint lists the case as Beltrami County Court File No. 04-CR-26-328.
