Beltrami County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Bemidji woman already banned from Walmart is now facing gross misdemeanor burglary charges after attempting to shoplift from the store again, just four months after being trespassed.

On July 10, 2025, officers responded to a call from Walmart in Bemidji after employees observed Monica Cree Prentice, 29, bypassing all points of sale with unpaid items. Prentice had previously been issued a two-year trespass notice, which made her entry into the store a criminal offense.

Police arrested Prentice at the scene not only for 4th-degree burglary but also on outstanding warrants. Under Minnesota law, re-entering a public building with the intent to steal after being barred is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail or a $3,000 fine.

The incident is part of a growing trend of repeat theft offenses in the region.
