Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Walker woman faces a gross misdemeanor DWI charge and a theft count.
Deanne Florence Cloud, 42, of Walker, Minnesota, is charged in Beltrami County.
Prosecutors charged Cloud with second-degree DWI for refusing a chemical test.
She is also charged with misdemeanor theft.
What happened at Walmart
According to the criminal complaint, the incident started on February 17, 2026.
It happened at about 5:00 p.m. at the Bemidji Walmart.
Asset Protection staff reported that a woman did not pay for items at self-checkout.
Staff said the woman ran after being confronted.
They reported she left in a silver or gray vehicle.
An employee gave a license plate number to law enforcement, the complaint says.

Traffic stop and arrest
A deputy later located the vehicle near the 5600 block of Alps Court NW.
The location was in Beltrami County, near an address tied to the vehicle owner.
The deputy stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Deanne Florence Cloud.
The complaint says the deputy noticed signs of possible recent drug use.
The deputy reported slurred speech and red, glassy eyes.
The complaint also says property taken from Walmart was found in Cloud’s possession.
Cloud was arrested on suspicion of DWI, according to the complaint.
Test refusal allegation
The complaint says Cloud was shown a search warrant for blood or urine testing.
She was advised that refusing a sample is a crime, the complaint says.
Cloud then refused to provide a sample for testing, according to the complaint.
