Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A 19-year-old Bemidji man faces new assault charges. A criminal complaint describes a stairwell fight.

Charges

Blayze Bradley Cloud, 19, of Bemidji, is charged with felony domestic assault. The charge is listed under Minn. Stat. 609.2242.4.

Cloud is also charged with fifth-degree assault, a misdemeanor. That charge is listed under Minn. Stat. 609.224.1(2).

What the police say happened

Police were called at about 8:37 p.m. on January 14, 2026. The call reported an assault in progress.

The incident was reported at an apartment complex. It was on the 800 block of 26th Street NW, according to the complaint.

Officers found Cloud in a stairwell, the complaint says. Investigators say he was straddling his sister.

Both people were crying, the complaint says. Police ordered Cloud to move away.

His sister is listed as Victim 1 in the complaint.

Cloud told police he had been drinking, the complaint says. He said the argument started at his mother’s apartment.

He said his mother asked them to leave. He said they began to wrestle.

Cloud said he forced his sister out of the unit, the complaint says. The complaint says he admitted to pushing her down the stairs.

A second person is listed as Victim 2. She told police Cloud threw a bottle at her face.

She said he then punched her, the complaint says. She said the punch knocked her out of a chair.

The complaint also notes Cloud’s juvenile record. It lists earlier adjudications for assault and threats of violence.

The complaint ties those cases to St. Louis County.

Court and bail

Cloud made his first court appearance after the arrest. Judge Annie P. Claesson-Huseby set bail at $500 cash with conditions.

The court also listed a $5,000 bail or bond option with conditions. A $10,000 option was also listed without conditions.

Cloud was ordered to remain law-abiding. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims.

Court records show he remained in custody. An order of detention was signed on January 16, 2026.

Cloud is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. The case was filed on January 16, 2026.
