Beltrami County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Virginia, Minnesota woman faces a felony drug charge. Police say it followed a Bemidji traffic stop.

Adriana Dominique Johnson, 29, is charged with storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult. Prosecutors filed the case in Beltrami County District Court on Feb. 17, 2026.

What the police say happened

According to the criminal complaint, the stop happened around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, 2026. An officer saw a vehicle with no front plate. The officer also saw an expired registration sticker.

The driver was identified as David George Goggleye. Johnson was in the front passenger seat. Police reported both adults showed possible drug use signs. The complaint describes glassy eyes and jerky movements.

Police arrested Goggleye on suspicion of DWI, the complaint says. Officers then searched the vehicle after the arrest.

Police say they found a blue backpack on the front floorboard. Inside were prescription bottles in Johnson’s name. Officers also reported a butane lighter, a rubber hose, and a glass pipe. The pipe had burned residue, police said.

The complaint says a second glass pipe was found in the back seat. Police said it was on top of a child’s backpack. The complaint also describes an open liquor bottle nearby.

Two children were seated in the back during the stop, police said. Johnson told officers she was the children’s guardian, according to the complaint.

Officers performed a field test on the residue, police said. The test indicated methamphetamine.

Charge and court status

Johnson is charged under Minnesota’s law on meth and children. The statute bars storing meth paraphernalia where children may be present. Read the law at the Minnesota Revisor of Statutes.

A judge signed an order to hold Johnson in custody, court records say. The case is pending in Beltrami County District Court in Bemidji.

Background noted in the complaint

The complaint lists prior convictions for Johnson. They include felony threats of violence. They also include third-degree DWI, fifth-degree assault, and fleeing a peace officer.

Johnson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Court files outline allegations and are not proof.
