Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Bemidji man with a long rap sheet was arrested on June 3, 2025, after allegedly driving a vehicle despite having his license canceled as inimical to public safety — a gross misdemeanor in Minnesota.
Minnesota State Trooper Austin Smith pulled over Ole Kristen Olander, 47, at about 10:07 p.m. for having a non-working headlight and darkly tinted windows. Olander admitted he had no valid license, claiming he was driving because his passenger felt unwell.
A quick records check revealed Olander’s driver’s license was DAC-IPS, meaning he was legally barred from driving. He also stated the vehicle was recently purchased, but the title transfer had not occurred.
Olander’s criminal past includes:
-
Felony drug possession,
-
Multiple DWIs,
-
Felony burglary,
-
And escape from custody.
Despite being on both supervised and unsupervised probation, he continued to offend.
