Beltrami County ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A Bemidji man is facing a felony charge after allegedly threatening a family member with a meat cleaver during a domestic incident earlier this month.

According to court documents, police responded to an apartment in Bemidji on September 9 following reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived, they encountered Bradley Wayne Olson, who allegedly told them he wanted to kill himself and others.

Police reported that Olson had a laceration measuring two to three inches on his hand. Investigators determined he injured himself with the cleaver. A family member told officers Olson threatened them with the weapon during an argument while shouting at them.

Olson was taken into custody and has now been charged with felony terroristic threats. Authorities have not released further information on whether he remains in custody or has posted bail.

Officials noted that mental health and public safety concerns are often linked in cases where weapons are involved during domestic disputes. No additional injuries were reported in this case.
