Bemidji, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Bemidji man is facing felony theft charges after he was caught on surveillance video allegedly stealing over $2,000 in cash from his employer, Cenex/A&W, over a span of four days in July 2024.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Beltrami County, Tyler Dale Syvertson (DOB 6/21/1984) was working at the store on Anne Street when pouches of cash repeatedly went missing. Surveillance footage reviewed by Bemidji Police showed Syvertson moving and hiding money-filled pouches, wrapping one in a towel and placing it under a shelf.
After being confronted, Syvertson allegedly admitted via text that he had “screwed up” and later sent a written apology, promising to repay the stolen amount. The missing funds totaled $2,052.31, and a restitution affidavit was filed in April 2025.
Syvertson has a prior domestic assault conviction from 2022.
