Bemidji ( trfnews.i234.me ) — Firefighters in Beltrami County were dispatched to two separate fires in Bemidji on Saturday evening. Both incidents drew large emergency responses within minutes of each other.
According to emergency radio traffic, the first fire call came in at 8:36 p.m. Crews were sent to the 4500 block of 25th Street Northwest on the city’s west side. Reports indicated the fire began in the kitchen of a residence. Dispatchers later reported that flames were spreading rapidly throughout the structure, prompting an “all call” request for additional support. Bemidji Fire and Bemidji Ambulance units were among those dispatched to the scene.
While crews battled the first blaze, a second fire was reported nearly simultaneously on the east side of Lake Bemidji. Dispatchers received calls describing large flames coming from a building located on Brinkman Drive Northeast, about three miles east of the lake. At the time of the initial report, responders had not yet confirmed an exact address. Authorities confirmed visible heavy flames as units were sent toward the scene.
Officials have not yet released information on the extent of the damage, whether the two incidents are related, or if there were any injuries. Both fires remain under investigation, and additional updates are expected as emergency crews assess the situations.
Bemidji residents are encouraged to avoid both areas while first responders remain active on scene. Further details, including the cause and impact of the fires, will be provided when available. For more on Minnesota fire safety and prevention resources, visit the Minnesota Fire Initiative.
