BEMIDJI COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A shocking turn of events unfolded in BEMIDJI, Minnesota, when Stephanie F. Macho was caught red-handed attempting to cash a forged $1,268 check at the First National Bank drive-thru. According to court documents, on April 16th, law enforcement was dispatched to the bank for a reported fraudulent check incident.
Macho, sitting in the driver’s seat, tried to flee the scene as officers arrived but was quickly apprehended after a short chase. Bank employees confirmed the check was fraudulent and presented it as evidence to the police. Macho now faces felony check forgery and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation charges.
This brazen attempt at fraud, combined with the failed escape, has left the community stunned.
