What the police say happened
Bemidji police were called to the Best Western Bemidji Inn early Friday, Feb. 13, 2026. Court papers say the call came in around 3 a.m.
A truck owner reported a break-in in the hotel lot. Police believe it happened between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Police found a white GMC Sierra with a shattered rear window. A door was also left open.
The owner told police an AR-15 style rifle was missing. Court papers say it had been kept inside the truck.
The owner told police he suspected Lindgren. He said Lindgren knew a woman at the hotel.
Police say Lindgren got angry after seeing the woman with the truck owner. The complaint says Lindgren then came to the hotel.
The woman told police she saw Lindgren break into the truck. She said she saw him take the rifle. She said he then left on foot.
