Area conservation officers say Beltrami Island State Forest has been busy these last few weeks.

Conservation officer Corey Sura says “many ATV riders were out and about on the trails of the Beltrami Island State Forest.” He says windy conditions made it quite difficult for anglers to get out on Lake of the Woods over the weekend. Conservation officer Ben Huener says “campers were contacted in Beltrami Island State Forest, and warned for camping in one location for longer than 14 days.”

Meanwhile, conservation officer Jeremy Woinarowicz says “enforcement action for the week included angling without a license, no helmet on a juvenile ATV passenger, no lights on an ATV, and operating an unregistered ATV.”
