Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Beltrami County woman is facing DWI and property damage charges after deputies say she crashed into a gate at the Wilton Gravel Pits while intoxicated early on July 15, 2025.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Ninth Judicial District Court, deputies responded to a party complaint at approximately 2:22 a.m. at the gravel pits, located on Wilton Hill Road NW. When deputies arrived, they found multiple vehicles at the site, including one that had struck a gate, causing the gate to impale the vehicle.

Witnesses identified the driver as Neylee Marina Baires-Skinaway, 22, of Bemidji. When questioned, she allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the crash. Deputies reported she exhibited signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and difficulty balancing.

A preliminary breath test registered 0.207 BAC, more than twice the legal limit. Two passengers were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash; one suffered a scratch under her chin and another complained of soreness. Deputies also found a Crown Royal box and bottle cap inside the vehicle.

Baires-Skinaway is charged with third-degree DWI and fourth-degree property damage. The DWI charge is a gross misdemeanor, punishable by up to 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.

Court records list the case number as 04-CR-25-1939.
